Michael Kilbey is a singer-songwriter from a sleepy village in Hertfordshire, a few miles north of London, England. First appearing on the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury as co-writer with The Franks at the raw age of 21, he has since written over 40 songs as a solo artist.
Building on the success of home-produced debut single Indigo, his first professional recordings were the product of an entirely supporter-funded campaign. The aptly titled I Was Waiting EP was the product of many months careful nurture and was released in October 2017.
Between them, the two records have inspired a huge online following, amassing to-date over 125,000 followers on Twitter and an impassioned international support-base, which regularly travels to England to attend shows.
Now, fresh off the back of October’s sold-out EP launch in Kings Cross, an appearance on the main stage On Blackheath and a stint supporting Steven Page of the Barenaked Ladies’ UK Tour, Michael Kilbey returns to London on Friday April 6th, 2018 to play his biggest headline date yet.
