Scenes from Whitechapel: a sewer completely clogged with nitrous oxide canisters

In reddit there appeared information that there are sewers on the streets which are completely clogged with nitrous oxide canisters - informed a user whose nick is ringmaster_j

The information approved a lot of users with various comments like these:

Saw a huge bag of them thrown into the river in Mottingham this morning as I ran past. There's been a real increase in the number of large piles of canisters. Before I saw a few at any one time, now it's upwards of 30 at a time.

I've seen these canisters all over the road, increasingly in the past month in Colliers Wood next to Wandle Park. I didn't understand what the canisters were and why they suddenly appeared but this makes sense now

They're absolutely everywhere in Wapping. I live close to the basin, and this tinny cute street has become a dumpster for this and all sorts of rubbish by these speedy dicks.

i see them all over the place in Acton. I wish people would at least put them in the recycling.

I'm going to go into a full on /r/britishproblems style rant if I'm not careful about how kids always shout the loudest about environmental issues but will sacrifice the least to help the environment. Remember that "climate camp" in the City? Litter everywhere and mostly McDonald's packaging.

We need a vigilante to convert a battery powered nerf gun to use these as ammo and just shoot them back at anyone littering with them.

I'm sure there's a few enterprising hipsters out there who can 'upcycle' these into Christmas decorations...

There was an information on a site about these nitrous oxide, telling that is no laughing matter in Wapping.

Christmas lights in an upmarket shopping street were taken down after just three days by council inspectors who branded them a “death trap”. The decorations were put up in Primrose Hill by Jonny Bucknell, the son of the UK’s first DIY television star Barry Bucknell, with a switch-on ceremony on Sunday by model Jo Wood, ex-wife of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie, and singer-songwriter Collette Cooper. But on Wednesday, Camden council bosses removed and impo...
