Londoners were warned about the closure of most of the railway networks in August. From 5th to 28th August, more than half of the metro lines at the Waterloo station will be closed. In addition, there will be difficulties with traffic through London Bridge, Charing Cross, Liverpool Street and Euston. Especially strongly traffic on these lines will be limited at the weekend from August 26 to August 28, said a representative of the railway transport Mark Carne.
Due to the closure of the south-western direction, about 1,300 people won`t be able to reach the right place on time after the closure of Waterloo. The traffic schedule of the remaining lines will be so busy that any breakdown of at least one train can provoke chaos and mass congestion of people at the station. Carne stressed that August will bring a lot of inconvenience to residents and guests of the British capital.
The authorities decided to prepare special repair teams, which will be able to quickly cope with the breakdown of transport. The leadership of the railways will send up to 133 million pounds in August to support the staff in London and the surrounding cities of 17,000 engineers and workers. At the station "Victoria" there will be more busy traffic, as passengers will search for alternative routes for movement on the southern railway.
