The British athletes managed to win nine medals, five of which were gold medals, in two days of the Paralympic Games in London. Gold medal winners were Richard Whitehead, Sophie Khan, Holly Arnold, Sammy Kinghorn and Stefanie Reid. Whitehead defended his title during the 200 meter running of T42 classification (sports classification for disabled athletes meaning the absence of one or both lower limbs), and another British David Hanson won bronze.
Champion of the Paralympic Games in Rio Holly Arnold again took the first place in javelin in the F46 classification of. Her throw not only showed the first result, but also set a new world record. Reid won her first T44 long jump title. Kinghorn and Khan won the 200 meter race in the T53 and T38 classifications, respectively, with each of them setting a world record.
