Against the background of recent acid attacks in the British capital, London policemen detained four guys with unknown chemical substance. Four young people aged 17 and 18 were carrying unknown liquid in a car. All of them are detained on suspicion of storing harmful substances.
The guys were spotted near the place where last week unknown people splashed acid into the face of the moped driver and stole his vehicle. Victims of the attack that day also became women. In addition, an acid attack was committed against a man in his own home in Dagenham. He was splashed with acid when he had to meet with the buyer of the phone.
In London, numerous protest actions took place with the participation of drivers involved in the delivery of food, as they are primarily in the risk zone. In response, the British authorities announced their intention to impose a life sentence for people who use acid as a weapon of crime. The police stressed that if the connection of detainees with a series of acid attacks in London will be proved, then they will have to answer to the full extent of the law.
There were cases when instead of acid they splashed with water, but before that they shouted that they had dangerous substance in their hands. The eastern part of London is already recognized as the most criminogenic area of the British capital. The police added that there are robberies and violence involving not only different substances, but also cold weapons. Law enforcers promised to sharply strengthen control over all areas of London in order to reduce tension and resentment in society, caused by the powerlessness of the authorities to ensure the complete safety of the residents of the megapolis.
