The opportunity to have a good meal - that's what the British think is a sign of an ideal pub. Of the 2,000 Britons interviewed, 67% said that eating is extremely important, whereas women payed more attention to this service than men (74% versus 60%). Also the availability of a variety of sorts of beer and a fireplace is important. Men prefer pubs with big TVs, where they can watch football. Availability of "live" music is less important, and some visitors do not pay attention to the music playing in the pub at all. A ban on being in a pub with children (27% talked about it) closes the list of important things, which ideal pub must have. However, 32% of respondents were not against pets in a pub.
