Irresponsible and disgusting' Polish butchers fined over rotting meat and overflowing bin bags dumped behind premises

Miesko Polish Deli continuously left loose rotting meat, bin bags and packaging strewn outside the premises, said Harrow Council

A Polish butchers has been fined more than £1,500 after leaving a disgusting mess at the back of their premises - including rotting meat and overflowing bin bags - informed getwestlondon.

Miesko Polish Deli, in Sudbury , was found with a "disgusting eyesore" of waste when Harrow Council ’s enforcement officers visited after pleas for help from neighbours.

They continuously left loose rotting meat, bin bags and packaging strewn in their own backyard and car park.

However, despite being warned and instructed to clear up their mess, they showed "no sense of pride or responsibility in keeping the area clean" said Harrow Council.

Director, Mrs Jolanta Wrobeln, 37, of Welbeck Road, Harrow , was eventually served a £100 Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN).

But the cheque to pay the £100 fine was stopped - which turned out to be a costly action.

The deli was was prosecuted at Willesden Magistrates' Court on August 15 and made to pay in total £1,530.66 for failing to take care of their waste.

Councillor Graham Henson, cabinet member for environment, said: “Wrobel’s irresponsible and disgusting behaviour not only caused misery for others, but made the area a dirty place – and that is completely unacceptable.

"She thought she could defy our warnings, and now has a lot to pay. Everyone is responsible for their own waste – whether you’re a business or resident.

"We’ll do the same with anyone else not managing waste properly or are caught undoing our work to make Harrow clean."
