Top 6 amazing beaches near London

Even though the summer is almost over, it doesn`t necessarily mean that it will become cold straight away. Still there may be some time to go at the seaside. Especially if it is not far away. We offer a list of six wonderful beaches, which you can reach in short time.

Tankerton Beach, Whitstable. An ideal place for a summer holiday: plenty of places for walking, beach huts and beautiful coastline, nearby you will always find a couple of cafes with friendly staff and delicious desserts. And, by the way, fans of seafood often come here - Whitstable is famous for its shellfish. The only thing you need to get there is to catch a train at St Pancras station: the trip will take 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Brighton. This is one of the most popular beach destinations among the British, and not coincidentally. You can walk along the local pier, having bought an ice cream cone and enjoying the fresh sea air or explore cozy streets and small shops. It is more than easy to get there: trains run from Victoria, London Bridge and St Pancras stations quite often.

Camber Sands, East Sussex. Camber Sands near the village Paradise in East Sussex are known for their luxurious white sand dunes and excellent surfing spots. It will take about two hours to get to the beach by car, and it will take only 1 hour 30 by the train - however, you will have to make a couple of layovers.

West Wittering, West Sussex. You can look into one of the local cafes that work all day, or take a picnic basket with you, and then take a walk along the cleanest beach and enjoy the views of the Wight Isle and the English Channel. The journey takes two hours by train (if you are coming from Victoria Station in Chichister).

Mersea Island, Essex. This place is ideal for water sports, fishing and, of course, visits to fishing restaurants, where gourmet oysters are served. And if you do not want to go shopping or catch crabs, then the beach has just the perfect atmosphere for a peaceful holiday from the daily routine. The journey will take about two hours.

Botany Bay, Kent. It is more difficult to get here than to the rest of the beaches on our list, but it's worth of it: the sight of calm sandy bay surrounded by rocks is breathtaking. To get to Botany Bay, you should take the train from St Pancras station to Broadstairs first, and then continue the trip on foot or by bus.
