Stoke Newington crash: Police van flips onto side in collision while answering 999 call

A police van flipped onto its side after crashing while answering an early morning 999 call in north-east London.

Paramedics rushed to the scene of the smash in Stoke Newington, which involved another van, at about 6.45am on Wednesday - writes standard.co.uk.

Dramatic pictures show an ambulance and at least three police cars at the scene as the police van lies on its side in the middle of the road.

A Met Police spokesman said: “There are no reports of any serious injuries.

“Two police officers and one male member of the public - the driver of the van - are being taken to hospital as a precaution. The road remains closed.

“Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.”

The van was answering an emergency call following a dispute where threats of violence had been made, Scotland Yard said.
