Leader of Brent Council Cllr Muhammed Butt cut the ribbon at the official reopening of the refurbished Best Western Plus London Wembley Hotel yesterday.
The new hotel provides 181 rooms and has the potential to deliver around 60 jobs for local people as part of the ongoing regeneration of Wembley Central - writes brent.gov.uk.
Cllr Muhammed Butt, Leader of Brent Council, said:
"The Council has an ambitious and bold vision for the regeneration of Wembley, an important part of which is to encourage jobs and growth alongside improvements to public realm and infrastructure.
"LHG's investment into the hotel is another step forward in our plan to enhance Wembley Central, as a local town centre destination with a connected and healthy mix of national retailers, independent shops and restaurants".
Mr Gauhar Nawab, Chairman of LHG, said:
"We have owned this hotel for a number of years and have come to know the local area well. We wanted to upgrade our facilities to meet the growing local demand for reasonably-priced hotels better, and offer an improved service to customers.
"We are delighted to invest in this part of Wembley, a vibrant and exciting area with a strong business community and a bright future".
