In connection with acid attacks, the police of east London increase the number of patrols. Additional forces will be funded from local authorities, which are concerned about what is happening. So, in the coming months about 40 new policemen will patrol territory around the Tower Hamlets residential complexes. Local shops and pharmacies received a warning from local authorities, in which owners are asked to carefully select those to whom they sell hazardous chemicals. All this became a consequence of the active position of the relatives of the victims suffered from the acid attacks.
Thus, just recently one of the residents of this district of the capital was doused with acid when he was driving a car. While he was waiting at the traffic light, an unknown person splashed acid into him directly through the car window. "There were no conflicts on the road. My nephew just waited at the traffic light and suffered, without even realizing for what, " - said Shaynul Khan, the uncle of the victim. Now the victim is in the hospital, where doctors treat him from severe acid burns on his face. It is planned that patrols will be equipped with means that can ease the condition of the victim before the arrival of doctors. "The police were provided with gloves, masks and water to provide first aid to the injured. Quite often the policeman is at the scene of the accident before the doctors, which means that his help will be very useful," - the local council said in a statement.
Should be noted, that recently the number of acid attacks has increased significantly. About a third of them were committed with the purpose of robbing victims. The most resonant was the incident in London, when two unknown people doused five victims within an hour and a half with the acid. And in the course of another incident, four teenagers splashed acid into the man in order to take his wallet and mobile phone.
