Dramatic moment BMW erupts in huge ball of flames while parked on east London street

This is the dramatic moment a BMW erupted in a ball of flames while parked on an east London street.

Flames ripped through the silver BMW 3 Series Coupe after an electrical fire broke out at around 2.30pm on Sunday - reports standard.co.uk.

Pictures from the scene on St Paul’s Way, Tower Hamlets , showed fire engulfing the vehicle while a tower of black smoke billowed up into the sky.

Rafel Hernandez, who lives in the street, told the Standard he heard a “shot” before rushing out to see “great smoke”.

A second and third explosion followed as the vehicle smoked for around thirty minutes, he added.

Firefighters managed to extinguish the fire but the car was left completely gutted.

The Met Police’s Cycle Safety Team tweeted: “Currently on scene with @LondonFire & @MPSTowerHam dealing with a car on fire at St Paul's Way. Not suspicious electrical fire #Teamwork”
