Phone charger explodes on the Tube at Tower Hill 'not terror related'

A small explosion on a Tube at Tower Hill is not terror related, say police.

Passengers were evacuated from Tower Hill at lunchtime as flames appeared inside one of the carriages - writes itv.com.

Firefighters were called to reports of smoke on a train at Tower Hill underground station.

It was a small explosion believed to be caused by a mobile phone charger. There was no fire when firefighters arrived.

The Brigade was called at 1226. Fire crews from Dockhead, Shoreditch and Shadwell fire stations were at the scene.
