Last chance to nominate!

The Pride of Brent Awards are a way to thank the residents, groups and businesses who have gone the extra mile to make Brent a better place to live and work in 2017.

But do get your nomination in soon – the deadline is Monday 9 October at 12noon - writes brent.gov.uk.

Just like the former Brent Community Champions scheme, the Pride of Brent Awards celebrate those who dedicate their time and energy to working for the benefit of their fellow residents and neighbours.

They come from all walks of life, from different backgrounds, ages and cultures. They work in local voluntary and community groups, for charities, schools or places of worship and for local businesses that know why it is important to put something back into the community.

The individual categories include community champion of the year, school governor of the year, inspirational young person of the year and young volunteer of the year.

The groups and businesses category includes community project of the year, community group of the year, and a business in the community award.

For details of the all the categories, and how to nominate a group or individual, visit www.brent.gov.uk/prideofbrent
