Police are testing protection from auto-terrorists

London policemen were spotted doing strange thing: near the parliament building they spread unusual black rugs with spikes right on the roadway. As it turned out, this is one of the new developments of science to counter terrorism. Rugs were tested on the eve of the parade, which should start near Westminster Abbey and go to the House of Lords.

The spikes installed on rugs are designed to stop vehicles. Should be reminded, recently terrorists preferred to use buses and vans for driving into people. It is known that the spikes are made of tungsten steel. Such spikes pierce the wheels, and with further movement of the transport they wrap around the wheels and block their rotation. According to the characteristics, this rug is able to stop the car weighing up to 17 tons. Metropolitan Police have already stated that they intend to use such rugs at most mass events.
