A free summit on preventing and relieving homelessness in Brent will take place at Brent Civic Centre on 25 October.
Residents worried about becoming homeless invited to attend free Homelessness Summit
Residents affected by the government's cuts to housing benefit and representatives from voluntary organisations are being invited to RSVP their attendance through EventBrite - writes brent.gov.uk.
The Homeless Summit is part of Brent Council's " show homelessness the door " campaign that aims to help residents with their housing concerns. It will run from 10 am through to midday on Wednesday 25 October at The Drum third floor conference hall, Brent Civic Centre, Engineers Way, Wembley, HA9 0FJ.
Cllr Harbi Farah, Cabinet Member for Housing and Wellfare Reform, said: "The Homelessness Summit is an opportunity to help prevent homelessness in Brent. We want to make sure that residents are aware of the ways in which Brent Council can assist in the fight against homelessness. The government's cuts to housing benefit and the ever growing demand for housing in the borough has led to more and more people facing the fear of homelessness. Anyone affected by these worries would really benefit from attending the Homelessness Summit on 25 October."
Housing experts will talk through solutions to homelessness with residents through presentations, a Q&A session and a break-out session with housing team and homeless prevention experts.
People are advised to book their free place as soon as possible through EventBrite
Refreshments will be provided.
