Halloween and Bonfire Night are approaching fast, and as residents gear up for a season of celebrations, we’ll be keeping an eye out for anyone trying to ruin the fun.
Our licensing officers will be working to ensure that shops don’t sell age-restricted fireworks to youngsters, and our team will be carrying out random visits and test purchases to make sure their rockets are legal - writes haringey.gov.uk.
Retailers will be asked to keep an eye out for youths trying to buy large quantities of flour and eggs.
We will also be contacting stores urging them to remain vigilant when selling knives, which are age-restricted.
We will be making sure illegal bonfires are cleared from the street and cracking down on other fly-tipping as part of the Autumn Nights operation, which launches today.
Other plans include visits by officers to betting shops and late night inspections at licensed venues.
