The Mayor of Brent, Cllr Bhagwanji Chohan, and Leader of Brent Council, Cllr Muhammed Butt, officially launched Brent Council's annual Poppy Appeal this week.
Poppy Appeal launched in Brent
Each year the Poppy Appeal aims to raise money to help protect the welfare, interest and memory of those who are serving, or who have served, in the Armed Forces - and the Mayor and Leader are calling on residents to get behind the campaign - writes brent.gov.uk.
The Mayor, Cllr Chohan, said: "I was honoured to launch this year's Poppy Appeal. The appeal is our chance to remember and pay tribute to all those who have sacrificed so much for the nation over the years, and those that continue to do so now."
I urge residents, visitors, and businesses to donate as much as possible to this vital cause and look forward to seeing poppies being worn across Brent."
Residents can also show their support by attending the Borough Remembrance Service to be held in Barham Park at 1.50pm on Sunday 12 November.
