Gastro-tour around Europe without leaving London

So many countries, abundance of national dishes, and each has its own special features. It would be great to try everything: French cheeses, Spanish tapas, Greek gyros... And how many nourishing dishes were invented in the north of the continent! Well, fortunately for residents of London, in the capital there are bars and restaurants that managed to recreate the color of some European countries and their national cuisines.

Spain - Camino.

The chain of restaurants Camino has proclaimed itself "the House of the Spanish tapas in London", and it really is so. The stylish interior, friendly atmosphere and excellent cuisine make you come back again and again. In Camino, you can arrange a feast of only snacks: meat, cheese, pasta and seafood... And here they serve the best ham in the world - Paleta Ibérica Etiqueta Negra. Pleasure, of course, is not cheap, but you will not regret it. There are six Camino restaurants in London. The address of the nearest can be found here.

Sweden - Garlic & Shots.

All you need to know about this place is in its name. In the menu there is no dish and no drink without garlic. Literally. Yes, beer is also with garlic. No, you can`t agree on dessert without garlic. You can only ask to put more of it. The bar menu Garlic & Shots includes 101 cocktails. Just do not try everything in one night. In general, this is a great place to hide from vampires, but it is better not to appoint romantic dates here. 14 Frith Street, Soho, W1D 4RD. The nearest metro station is Tottenham Court Road.

Hungary - Past 'n' Goulash.

Our favorite Pasta 'n' Goulash restaurant has returned to Cambridge Heath, and here they again serve stunning Hungarian dishes, in which there are so much of juicy meat and flavored cheese. The menu of the restaurant is very extensive, but you need to go here first of all for a traditional goulash in a bread pot. This is the most proper winter dish of all existing. 299 Railway Arches, Cambridge Heath Road, E2 9HA. The nearest metro station is Cambridge Heath.

Italy - Radio Alice.

It was not easy to choose the best Italian restaurant in London. Named after a pirate radio station broadcasting in Bologna half a century ago, two Radio Alice pizzerias (in Hoxton and Clapham) are ready to delight admirers of Italian cuisine every day. Here you will find proshutto and gorgonzola, and aromatic oils... You will not find better pizza in the entire capital. 16 Hoxton Square, N1 6NT. The nearest metro station is Old Street. 67 Venn Street, Clapham, SW4 0BD. The nearest metro station is Clapham Common.

Iceland - Texture.

Texture is not just a restaurant of Icelandic cuisine. This is the restaurant of Icelandic cuisine, which received the Michelin star. Agnar Sverrisson, its chef, traveled throughout Europe for many years and studied with the best masters of this craft before opening his own institution. You cannot go in this restaurant on the way somewhere, here you need to go purposefully. There are many salty dishes and strange names in the Texture menu, but you will not be mistaken if you order venison or cod. 34 Portman St, Marylebone, W1H 7BY. The nearest metro station is Marble Arch.

Germany - German Gymnasium.

German Gymnasium is a very sophisticated restaurant. It is a custom to have long dinner here, talk for a long time and drink wine for a long time. However, you really will not want to leave. A full dinner or four-course dinner will cost you £45, but it is worth it. King's Boulevard, Kings Cross, N1C 4BU. The nearest metro station is King Cross St Pancras.

Portugal - Taberna do Mercado.

Nuno Mendes, the chef of this restaurant, aimed to change our perception of Portuguese cuisine. In Taberna do Mercado, it suddenly turns out that custard pastries are not the only asset of Portugal (but do not worry: they also have them here). Snacks, first and second courses, salads and desserts, the names of which you have never heard... You will feel as if you were in a small English-speaking Lisbon. 107b Commercial Street, E1 6BG. The nearest metro station is Liverpool Street.
