A 17-year-old girl has died and a 16-year-old boy is in a critical condition after two shootings within minutes of each otherinnorth London.

Police said they found the teenage girl with a gunshot wound in Chalgrove Road, a residential street in Tottenham, at 9.35pm.
Paramedics attempted to save her life, but she was pronounced dead at the scene at 10.43pm. Her family have been told and a crime scene established. No arrests have been made, police said.
She is believed to be the 37thhomicide victim in London in two months. On the weekend it emerged the UK capital’s murder rate had risenabove New York’s for the first time in modern history.
Scotland Yard said it was called to reports of gunfire in Markhouse Road in Walthamstow at around 10pm.
When they arrived they found two boys suffering from gunshot and knife wounds.
A spokesperson for the force said:“A 16-year-old boy was found with gun shot injuries. He has been taken to an east London hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
“A second victim, aged 15, has been taken to an east London hospital with stab injuries. We await an update on his condition.”
It was too early to say if any links between the attacks were being investigated, the spokesperson said.
Local Labour MP Stella Creasy tweeted: “Walthamstow – can confirm tonight we have had another serious incident involving shooting and stabbing.
“Appreciate this is very distressing- I will share more information as and when have it from official sources as only want to share what is confirmed.”
On Thursday the family of Abraham Badru, 26, who was shot deadin Hackney, east London on 25 March warned that “gun culture is becoming rampant in our community”.
