15 best retailers to work in the UK according to British employees

The best place to work according to the staff was John Lewis. John Lewis has a practice when all employees receive their share of the company's profits. Not surprisingly, it got into the list of leaders of the rating and got ahead of Lush, Ikea and Marks & Spencer.

The rating is based on the responses of thousands of employees that they left on the website Indeed in the 12 months preceding January of this year. Employees were asked to evaluate their company in five categories: balance of work and personal life, salary, guarantee of employment, management and culture of the company.

The cosmetic company Lush from Poole, which is known for its natural ingredients and bright colorful shops, was named the second UK retailer, where employees like to work. Lush was greatly appreciated for hits high ethical standards, because it opposes animal testing and uses only herbal components. In addition, employees like a flexible work schedule and a 50% discount on personnel products.

Ikea from the Netherlands, which became the first major retailer that started paying the minimum subsistence wage, to all British employees, was ranked third, overtaken Marks & Spencer and the Clarks store chain.

Many employees of British companies among the main advantages of their company indicated a high level of wages. Although someone put the working atmosphere and culture of the company in the first place, as, for example, employees of Harrods, who raised their company to the 7th place.

In general, British companies dominate the rating, and 11 retailers out of 15 turned out to be local.

Not cheap supermarket Waitrose, which is part of the John Lewis Partnership, also got on the list and took 9th place. In addition to Waitrose, another supermarket on the list was Sainsbury's, although it took the last line of the rating.

Kevin Walker of Indeed commented on the results of the poll: "Our research shows that the best are those retailers, where the staff feels themselves an important part of the positive culture of the company. To enjoy working process, to feel that you can positively influence something beyond company - these are the things that make the workplace something special."
