Monday (16 April) was national Primary School Offer Day. This year 2,892 applications were received from Bexley residents, with 89% of children being offered their first preference.
Of the remaining children, 6.95% were offered their second preference and 1.8% their third preference. Over 98% will receive one of their six preferences. Only 1.24%, or 36 children, are not being offered any of their preferences but have already been offered a school close to their home.
The high number of children receiving their first preference place puts Bexley well above the London average.
The Council has so far received 109 late applications, which are considered after national offer day.
Parents and carers that applied online will have received their school offer on Monday evening by email. Those that applied by paper application have been sent their school place information by first class post.
