Jewels estimated at half a million pounds sterling stolen from the house of the Rothschild family

The heiress of the banking empire, Kate Rothschild, reported the burglary committed while her children were sleeping.

The London police began investigating the case of burglary from a house in one of the most prestigious districts of the capital. The report was made by Kate Rothschild - the daughter of a banker and music producer, living in an estate with two children at the age of ten and twelve.

According to Kate Rothschild, the perpetrators made their way into the house when she was at an evening social party, and the children and their nanny were sleeping. Having returned home, Kate could not get into the child’s room, her friend climbed into the room through the window and found that it was locked from the inside, things were messed up, and the box with personal jewelry was gone.

Among the stolen jewelry there was a rare brooch with diamonds and stained glass enamel, family jewelry of three generations, as well as wedding and engagement rings left from the marriage with financier James Goldsmith (the younger brother of former candidate for mayor of London Zac Goldsmith).

According to the investigators, the attackers could silently get into the child’s room, climbing up the ladder from the back of the house, which is not visible by the surveillance cameras.
