They switch to digital clocks instead. The analogue century can be considered truly completed. Many British schools get rid of traditional wall clocks, because so many children cannot determine the time using them. Teachers claim that this bothers students during the exam, because they can’t use their mobile phones and they do not have the opportunity to find out what time it is. More and more teenagers cannot determine the time using traditional clocks, so schools are forced to abandon using them in favor of digital models.
One teacher at a recent conference in London explained: "It is just amazing how many students in high school, who do not know how to determine time, I met, they no longer use the normal clocks and in order to find out time it is, they use mobile phones". Many agreed with this statement. Nicola Towle tweeted: "Our school replaced the analog clocks with digital ones on exams, because the students could not use them".
