The internal investigation of the German auto-concern revealed problems with safety in a wide range of vehicles.
Last year, the German concern BMW withdrew from service in Britain more than 36,000 cars, but it turned out that it was only the tip of the iceberg - now 312,000 cars are already recalled on the national scale due to the threat of a complete engine stop while driving.
The cars with petrol and diesel engines of the models of the First and Third series, as well as Z4 and X1, produced in the period from March 2007 to August 2011 are subject to the calling back. The press service of the auto-concern says that the reason for the recall is the risk of a short circuit that blocks the engine at full speed.
BMW guarantees that in the next three weeks all owners of cars subject to recall will receive by mail information booklets with clear rules of action of the seller and the buyer. Car inspection will be free for owners, and all diagnostic work will take no more than two hours.
